現代社会においては答えが１つではない複雑な課題を、他者と協力しながら解決していく能力が不可欠になります。このような社会を見据え法政大学第二中・高等学校では、全教科にわたる幅広い教養を身に付けつつ、さらに、知識を獲得するにとどまらず、知識を用いて「自ら論理的に思考し、他者に表現することができる力」の育成を目指しています。具体的にどんな授業が行われているのか、今回はある日の高校生の英語科の授業を見てみましょう。
Q.今日の英語科の授業では、どんなことに取り組んでいますか?
In English, students study, use, and enjoy language communicated orally, visually, or through writing. Our 2nd grade English program focuses on reading comprehension, foundation writing skills and making rich language choices in writing.
In the segmented classes, we conduct small-group lessons with 22 students per class, providing an environment where it's easy to ask questions and engage actively. Also, our Reading Marathon offers support from those requiring regular reading practice.

It is important for students to develop fundamental skills that they can utilize in future communication and learning contexts. Below, let's list several skills that we hope students will acquire.
In addition to understanding basic grammar and vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, speaking, and listening,
Cultural Understanding: Deepening the understanding of cultures and customs of English-speaking countries will make it easier to comprehend the appropriate context for communication. Let's cultivate an attitude of respect for different backgrounds and values.
Self-directed Learning Skills: English learning is not limited to high school classes alone. Cultivate self-learning skills and develop the ability to expand vocabulary and knowledge by utilizing dictionaries and online resources.
By acquiring these skills, students will be able to confidently master the use of English and effectively communicate in various situations.
